The Myriad Benefits Of A Healthy Lifestyle

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

You know how you feel when you’re sick as compared to when you’re not. And even though catching something contagious like a cold or flu is sometimes unavoidable, having the wisdom that feeling healthy is a better way to live should have you asking yourself why you’re not taking action to live each day as beneficially as possible?

A healthy lifestyle can greatly increase a person’s longevity. And the best way to ensure good health is by taking care of yourself. Yes, we’ve all heard how eating right and exercising are so important – because it’s true which is why we hear about it on a constant basis.

The issue with a lot of people nowadays is that they’re so busy working and/or taking care of everyone around them, that they neglect their own health. If you fall into this category, make a decision right now to change this circumstance. You are as important as everyone around you and if you want to be at your best so that you can take care of your family, start taking care of yourself first.

Experts say a healthy breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it is. It wakes up our metabolism and gives us the energy we need to move through the rest of the day. So a daily regimen of a healthful breakfast, light but fulfilling lunch and satisfying but not overly fat-filled dinner – and even snacks and a nice dessert from time-to-time, in addition to just one-half hour of exercise, three times a week, will have you feeling better and experiencing positive results not only related to your overall health, but your energy level as well.

And even though exercise is great for burning fat and keeping in shape, it’s also a great stress reliever. Yoga, aerobics, kick-boxing, a brisk walk – all of these actions are fantastic for the cardio-vascular system and muscle groups as well. And make sure you get enough sleep! Sleep deprivation is a major reason why people become unfocused and forgetful. And actually, exercising on a regular basis will help you sleep better!

So do yourself and those you love a favor and start taking care of yourself – today.

Loose Weight And Feel Better About Yourself

Monday, July 19th, 2010

I am here to encourage you to start exercising to lower your body fat levels. When approaching your goals for a better you, every game plan needs to start with determining where you are, and where you want to end up.

The diet plan you choose should be one that you can stick to for the rest of your life, and it should be healthy for your body. If like to eat rice, pasta or bread than trying a diet that limits or removes carbohydrates will not be practical for you. By eating chicken, meats or high protein meals a low carb diet might be right for you.

A balanced diet replaces all the fuel used in the workouts. The best way is to get daily exercise and eat a balanced diet. When dieting it is obvious to eat foods that do not have a lot of fat or calories, try not to eat foods in excess. The secret to burning body fat to get to your ideal weight is you must eat and exercise right or it simply won’t happen.

Gaining weight or having body fat that is high is brought on by the following feelings, laziness, pride and denial. Any weight loss program is often accompanied by diet and exercise.

To loose weight there are no secrets, no magical pills, no magical weight loss programs it is purely done by eating right and exercising. The exercise the experts are keeping a Secret. Let’s look at one way of curbing both reasons for not following through on an exercise program and how to keep your body fat levels low.

Cardiovascular training is when you exercise your heart at a certain level of effort. Try to change your exercise routing every 10-12 weeks, the reason for this is because your body adapts to the same routine. When we talk about exercise to loose weight most people think of running, aerobics and sometimes Kickboxing, usually it is an exercise that will get you heart rate up for about 35-45 minutes. It’s true, that one hour of aerobic exercise probably burns more calories than one hour of weight training. To loose weight and build a healthy routine you need to start and maintain an exercise program, having the discipline to do this everyday is the magic that everyone is talking about, once you get into a habit it will jump start you and make it easier to loose weight and reach your goal.

As we go through our daily lives you find yourself gaining weight, this is mostly caused by influences from advertising and labels on food misleading you that these types of food are fat free or low in fat. Many times these foods are the same or worse.

Many people are pushing the hoodia patch, they report it will suppress your appetite and that it works better and faster than taking the hoodia pills, or liquid. Hoodia has been become very popular and many media sources are publicizing it on networks like BBC, Today Show, Good Morning America and many others.

What is comes down to it, if you want to loose weight and feel better, eat better and exercise, it is really will power. If you really want it to happen you will find a way.

Can someone explain to me the difference between Karate and Kickboxing?

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

I am in wrestling for my high school and I play hockey. I have been wanting to do Martial Arts for a long time now but now I’m really serious about it.

I want to do something with more of a hands on combat, and I understand that kickboxing is like just fighting but with fancy kicks and fancy punches, but can someone explain to me what Karate is? I am very interested.

Thanks

where did you hear kickboxing has fancy kicks and punches…
i would say kickboxing is one of the least fancy martial arts
probably almost number 1
there are fancy techniques but i can guarantee you wont be learning them any time soon
karate is more of a discipline art and is more fancy and less practical than kickboxing
boxing or Kickboxing would be a nice place to start off
and dont think that just because kickboxing has boxing in its name it means it encompasses all of boxings techniques and uses
id say kickboxing or boxing would be perfect for you
but then again only you can decide that try out a few gyms see if theres on you like
and please dont be one of those faggots that deveolps a complex over this
the only good thing you learn from wrestling that can be applied to an MMA fight would be takedowns and takedown defense
you know how your suppose to roll to your stomach
try that against anyone in mma and your completely assss fucked
start off with kickboxing or boxing
and sorry for the length of this answer

Tie A Karate Belt Well Or Your Pants Will Fall Off

Friday, July 9th, 2010

I have a five-year-old son who recently decided he wanted to take up the art of karate. Well, as you can guess, I was thrilled that he wanted to get involved with something that would teach him so much for the life that lies before him. Little did I know that I too, would have to become an expert in the ways of karate fashion!

We went through all the steps to get him signed up and get his karate gi. Now all there was to do was await the big day when he was to start his class. He ran around the house with his ‘Sponge Bob’ karate gloves on, chopping into everything he could get his little hands on. With his enthusiasm, he soon had the whole family getting into the spirit of things and we all were getting anxious for the classes to start.

Well, as the big day neared, he took to wearing his gi both day and night. He was not very good at tying knots so this quickly became a dileMMA. He would put on his uniform to fight the evildoers in the house and I was expected to quickly tie the belt on his uniform. Then, when he would switch back to his own personality, he again would want a Quick Draw McGraw change of the gi. I, of course, obliged.

Well, this went on right up until the big day. When the day arrived that he was to go to his first karate class, we all took much pride in getting him ready for his first lesson. I helped him get dressed, all the way down to tying the white belt around his little waist. I tied a good strong knot to keep it on his torso and off we went.

When we arrived, he walked proudly into the room only to have some of the other students snicker at him. I looked around to see what was wrong and why they would be doing that. Apparently, to my surprise, I had tied his karate belt completely wrong and it looked as if he had a huge lump in his tummy.

It didn’t matter to him, he stood there in all his glory, proud as can be.

One of the other kids dads gave a quick lesson on how to tie the belt and I immediately called him over to fix the problem. I was just a bit too late as when he turned to look at me while jumping in the air, teh top half of his gi came apart and just about fell off of him due to my awful knot. I got him over to me as quick as possible and fixed it so he was none the wiser. I learned that the belt should sit just above the hip bones, for if it is in any way different, it will untie and fall off. The ends of the belt need to be of equal lengths to make sure that it doesn’t interfere with your body parts getting caught in it and you should make sure that the belt doesn’t cross itself at the back.

He loves his karate classes. I love my wrestling, jujitsu and Kickboxing classes. As a family, we have it covered!

Should I learn Danzan Ryu Jujitsu or Sambo to compliment my Sanshou kickboxing?

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

I have visited both the DZR Jujitsu and Sambo school before and I enjoyed the free lessons. The schools seem authentic where its not a McDojo and instructor’s credentials. DZR Jujitsu and Sambo are my options.

I want to learn either one of these is because of self-defense techniques in the streets. Which MA should I learn to compliment my Sanshou Kickboxing?

i respect a person who knows jujitsu. if taught correctly, can prove to be very efficient and complimentary to any style. sambo is great too, but it lacks fluidity and techniques that easily mixes into styles. but this is opinion
